  • Welcome to the Autism Training Program

The Kansas Center of Autism Research and Training (KCART) is happy to announce that we are now resuming trainings on autism and other developmental disabilities with our OASIS (Online and Applied System for Intervention Skills) Provider Training Program (previously known as the Autism Training Program).

The OASIS Provider Training’s mission is to increase the number of qualified service providers who can then facilitate program development, implementation, and coordination of interventions across multiple environments including home, community, and school settings for children with ASD and other developmental/behavioral disabilities.

    What We Offer

    • Direct Service Provider (DSP) is a three day training that covers the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. It is an intensive hybrid training experience consisting of online training modules, interactive lecture, hands-on training with a child with ASD in clinic, and independent activities. This training meets the State of Kansas’ training requirements for the Intensive Individual Support Provider. Cost of training is $500*.
    • Behavioral Specialist (BS) is a two-day training that is intended for individuals who will operate at the behavioral consultant level. The training will cover behavioral intervention plans, function of behavior, peer networks, criterion referenced assessments, and program development. This training meets the State of Kansas’ training requirements for Autism Specialist. Cost of training is $300.
    • Respite (Online only) online informational tutorials that cover the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. There are 10 Modules with a pre- and post-test. These tutorials are mandatory only if a trainee scores less than 90% on the pre-test. This training meets the State of Kansas’ training requirements for Respite and Parent Support Providers. Cost of training is $200.

*If you would like to add the RBT Competency Assessment, it is an additional $100.
